Welcome to Tutle.ai. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

1. Service Description

Tutle.ai provides a zero-knowledge, terminal-style AI chat interface that:

Processes your chat requests in real-time without storing conversation content
Routes requests to AI model providers (currently OpenAI) with data retention disabled
Stores only essential usage metadata for billing and quota management
Provides local chat history storage in your browser under your control

2. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate account information and keep it updated
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Not attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or other restrictions
Not use the service for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes
Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the service

You agree NOT to:

Share your account with others
Use the service to generate prohibited content (as defined by our AI providers)
Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
Use automated tools to exceed rate limits
Resell or redistribute access to the service

3. Privacy Guarantee

Our Core Commitment:

Zero Content Storage: We do not store your conversation content on our servers
Ephemeral Processing: All chat interactions are processed in-memory and immediately discarded
Local Control: Your chat history is stored only in your browser under your control
Metadata Only: We store only usage counts and timestamps for billing purposes
No Training: Your conversations are never used to train AI models

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

4.1 Plans and Quotas

We offer three subscription tiers:

Free: 150 messages/month, GPT-5 nano, 256 tokens/response
Starter ($3.50/month): 1,000 messages/month, GPT-5 mini, 512 tokens/response
Pro ($7/month): 2,000 messages/month, GPT-5, 768 tokens/response

4.2 Billing and Payments

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Clerk Billing
Monthly message quotas reset on the 1st of each month
Unused messages do not roll over to the next billing period
You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription anytime
Refunds are not provided for partial months or unused messages

4.3 Rate Limits

All plans are subject to 20 requests per minute rate limiting
Maximum 4,000 input tokens per request across all plans
Rate limits protect service stability and prevent abuse

5. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
We may perform maintenance with or without notice
Service depends on third-party providers (OpenAI, Clerk, Neon, Vercel)
We are not liable for service interruptions caused by third-party failures
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice

6. Content and AI Output

6.1 Your Input

You retain all rights to your input prompts and questions
You are responsible for the content of your inputs
Your inputs are not stored by us (zero-knowledge architecture)

6.2 AI-Generated Output

AI-generated responses are provided "as-is" without warranties
We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of AI outputs
You are responsible for verifying and using AI outputs appropriately
AI outputs may reflect biases present in training data

6.3 Prohibited Content

We rely on AI provider safety filters to block prohibited content
Prohibited content includes illegal, harmful, abusive, or hateful material
We do not inspect your content but may terminate accounts for violations

7. Intellectual Property

Tutle.ai, our logo, and service are our intellectual property
You may not use our branding without permission
The service interface and code are protected by copyright
Open-source components are governed by their respective licenses

8. Termination

8.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription anytime through your account settings
You may delete your account through Clerk's user management
Local chat history remains in your browser until you clear it

8.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
We may terminate accounts for suspected fraudulent activity
We will provide notice when reasonably possible before termination
Termination for cause does not entitle you to refunds

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

9.1 Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND
WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY
WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE SERVICE
AI OUTPUTS ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE (LEGAL, MEDICAL, FINANCIAL, ETC.)

9.2 Limitation of Liability

OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DATA LOSS (AS WE DO NOT STORE YOUR CONTENT)
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DECISIONS MADE BASED ON AI OUTPUTS

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time
Material changes will be notified via email or service announcement
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms
You should review these terms periodically

11. Governing Law
